Hi
I’ve just started using wax as part of my silversmithing and don’t really know much about the procedure to get it cast. So I’m hoping you would answer a few questions for me…
I’m wondering is it possible to just cast one off pieces? Or do I need a few cast?
( only make one off pieces you see)
Also what is the turnaround time for this just an estimate woul be good
Thank you so much

Hi Mandy,
Yes! You can send in one wax, that’s no problem at all. We do have a minimum order charge of £23 but that actually covers up to 5 casts/waxes so the casting cost would be same for one to five pieces (hope that helps to get you started.)
When we receive your carefully packaged wax in the post, it always goes on to the next casting so it’s quite a quick turn around. We cast every other day so never more than 5 days.
Once the casting is done, your piece will be spun in one of our gentle magnetic polishers to remove any oxide, that way we can inspect each casting. Your casting is then weighed and a pro-forma invoice will be emailed to you. You just need to pay that (over the phone or via Paypal – through our site) and we’ll send your casting(s) to you using Royal Mail’s Special Delivery (next day) service.
Hope this helps and apologies for the late response, this section of the site doesn’t seem to be sending notifications!
If you have any other questions it would be advisable to send an email or give us a call and we’ll be happy to explain things further.
Otherwise we look forward to receiving some work from you! 🙂
